Lucy Louise (Porter) Johnson

Lucy Louise (Porter) Johnson, born 5/4/1920 in Vandergrift, PA and died 5/28/2023 at 103 years old.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Lester and Elanore (Schneider) Porter; her husband, Ray A. Johnson, and their son Patrick who died at 2 days old.

Louise attended Muskingum College in Ohio and worked for Goodyear for 40 years. She and her husband met because of a shared joy in music when both sang in an Akron Civic Choir. They made their home in the Cuyahoga Falls and Silver Lake area for over 20 years. After Ray's passing, Louise became the caregiver for her mother, in her home, and her mother lived to be 101 years old.

Louise moved into Silver Lake Towers where she enjoyed many friends and activities for 20 years. She then moved to Ohio Living Rockynol Assisted Living until her death. Louise fully participated in all activities and programs there. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls until her later years. She had a friendly, joyous, and caring personality which resulted in her being liked by all who met her.

As requested by Louise, a service was held at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev Jonathon Priebe. She was buried next to her loving husband, Ray.
