Sandra Tyson Obituary

Sandra B. Tyson, 86 of Akron, died Aug. 8, 2018 after a long illness.
Sandra was born in Akron, lived in Michigan for her formative years and her adult life in Akron. She graduated from the University of Michigan's College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, where she was a member Alpha Phi Fraternity. An active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, for over 60 years. She became a Dominican Associate with the Dominican Sisters of Peace, enjoying the friendships and study. She was involved with the Bath Garden Club and many other volunteer opportunities. She also loved her pets over the years and most recently enjoyed the companionship of her canine companion, Tasha.
Preceded in death by her husband, David Z. Tyson and her daughter, Elizabeth Tyson-Fitzhugh. She is survived by her children, David Z. Tyson, Jr. (Martha) of Chicago, IL, Andrea T. Parker of Akron, OH, Eric T. Tyson (Cynthia) of Akron OH; four grandchildren, Catherine Tyson (Scott Roop), David Tyson III, Andrew Parker, and Nathan Parker.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1361 W. Market St. Akron, OH 44313, with the Rev. Mark Pruitt officiating. Inurnment will be prior to the service at 10:00 am at Rose Hill Burial Park. If desired, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, or The Dominican Sisters of Peace, 1230 W.
