Leslie Scherry

Leslie Scherry (Horvath), age 59, passed away on January 15th, 2019 after a brief illness. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Leslie graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1977. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Ohio University and her Master's from Kent State University. She worked many years teaching Special Education at Nordonia and Akron Public Schools. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh with her friends. Leslie spent much of her retirement time being creative by making homemade crafts, trying new recipes or planning the perfect party gathering for friends and family. She enjoyed movies, reading, cooking and she had a love of all things beautiful, including flowers, home decorating, and finding unique antique pieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Betty Horvath; and her brother, David. She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Richard; her siblings, Todd Horvath, Carol Wagner and their spouses. Although she didn't have children of her own, she cherished her nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is planned for Leslie on SUNDAY, January 27th at 4 p.m. at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St. Friends and family may call from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of i‚owers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. (Billow FALLS Chapel)
