Jeffrey Paul Wiland

Jeffrey Paul Wiland, 62, of Kent, Ohio passed away suddenly after a brief illness on Monday, July 23, 2018 surrounded by his family. Born in Randolph, Ohio on October 17, 1955, he was the son of the late Charles Bevan and Rose (nee Horning) Wiland of Akron. He was a graduate of Champion High School and Kent State University. He worked as security manager for JCPenney in Akron for several years and in the Facilities & Management Department at Kent State University before retirement. Jeff loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a true fan of Cleveland sports teams and enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, and golf.

Jeff will be lovingly remembered by his sons, JB (Jackie nee Kauffman) Wiland of Medina and their daughters, Scarlett and Alexandra, Tony (Bekah nee Wigton) Wiland of Stow and their daughters, Evelyn and Ava, Nick (Taylor nee Judson) Wiland of Westlake, and Cory Wiland of Tallmadge; sister, Sharla (Jim) Hess of Warren; brothers, Brian (Elaine) Wiland and Bruce Wiland of Columbus; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held. Friends and family are welcome to gather for a Celebration of Jeff's Life on SUNDAY, August 12 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Ray's Place of Fairlawn Eatery & Tavern, 25 Ghent Rd, Fairlawn, OH 44333. In lieu of flowers, and to honor Jeff's legacy, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Jeff Wiland Memorial Fund in care of KeyBank. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
