Farris S. Owen

Farris S. Owen, 77, of Akron, OH, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 31, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Saghbine, Lebanon on February 10, 1941, Farris arrived in the United States at the age of 15 and went on to be a successful businessman in the Akron area. He owned and operated several taverns, Owen's Rubbish Service, and most recently, Gionino's Pizzeria in Copley/Montrose. In his spare time, he loved building homes, caring for his multiple rental properties, mowing his lawns, watching westerns, and taking his wife out to dinner.

Preceded in death by his parents, Saleem and Edna, and his brothers, George (Mona), Antoine, and Harvey.

Survived by his best friend and love of his life for 55 years, his wife Linda; his children who deeply loved and adored him, Sandra, Diana, Farris (Patricia), Terry (Pankaj), Ray; grandchildren, Arianna, Keely, Ethan, Elise, Jayden, Chloe, and Baby Farris; surviving sisters-in-law, Josephine and Norma. His dedication and endless love for his wife and children will be forever treasured.

Funeral Services will be held 11:30 a.m. FRIDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, OH 44333. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
