Sandor Bako

Sandor Bako, 85, passed into eternity on May 21, 2017 after a struggle with illness the last few years. He was born April 15, 1932 in Marfa, Hungary to Bako Gabor and Julianna, one of 13 children.

His commitment to his faith brought him to the United States after the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. Here, he married Katalin (Kathy) Muller in 1960 and raised his family of five daughters. He thrived through hard work, and a passion for the outdoors led him to found Bako Landscaping and Nursery in 1963, which continues to this day. We celebrate his entrance into the majestic presence of the Lord Jesus Christ his Savior, Comforter and Protector in all times.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Bako; daughters, Rose Emoke Yahi, Eszti (Tibor) Zsoldos , Erika (Eric) Graf, Susan Zsuzsa (Jozsef) Kocsis and Viola Gyongyi (Sandor) Hegedus; and many grandchildren, Leila (Steve), Aaron, Sammy Yahi, Jonathan (Beth), David, Maria (Jon) Zsoldos, Andrew (Rachel), Adam, Adeline (Derrick Kuenzi fiancé) Annaliese Graf, Joe, Peter, Izabella Kocsis, Ruben, Sandor, Daniel, Janos, Samuel, Zoltan, Alina, Yulia Hegedus and great-granddaughter Marin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gabor and Julianna; 3 brothers, 6 sisters in Hungary and brothers, Eugene, Joseph and Zoltan in Akron and his "best friend", Marineni with whom he spent countless hours visiting.

Service will be held 10:30 a.m. FRIDAY at the Apostolic Christian Church, 2360 S. Medina Line Rd., Wadsworth, OH 44281 with interment to follow at the Apostolic Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. THURSDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., and from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. before the service FRIDAY at the church.
