Russell J. Spetrino

Russell J. Spetrino, former executive vice president and general counsel of Ohio Edison, now FirstEnergy, died on April 7, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. He was 90 years old.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn, in 1976, and sister, Eleanor Spetrino, in 2012. He is survived by his wife, Millie; son, Michael (Terry); daughter, Ellen Raines (Randy); granddaughters, Rachel McCoy (Jacob) and Lillian Spetrino; grandsons, Jack and Sam Raines; and sister, Joyce Spetrino.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 13, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Memorial Chapel, 1361 W. Market St., Akron (entrance off Kenilworth). Reverend Mark Pruitt officiating. Interment with military honors at Rose Hill Burial Park, followed by a reception for friends and family.

Calling hours are Wednesday, April 12, 4-7 p.m. at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions in his honor to the American Cancer Society, 3500 Embassy Parkway #150, Fairlawn 44333; Akron Community Foundation, 345 West Cedar St., Akron 44307; or St. Paul's Episcopal Church. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
