Eleonore Winke Obituary
Eleonore Elsie Winke went to be with the Lord, Our God on January 2, 2018. She is survived by her husband, Norman G. Winke; sons, Bernard J. Whitt and David A. Whitt; daughter, Eleanor A. Whitt Liodos; stepson, Kenneth Winke; stepdaughter, Carol VanFleet; grandsons, Eric Whitt, Ryan Whitt, Nicholas Liodos, and Coe-Allen Whitt; granddaughters, Jessica and Brittany Liodos, and Vanessa Whitt; 2 great grandchildren, Chloe and Trey; step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
Eleonore was born in Berlin, Germany and came to the U.S. in her twenties after WWII and resided in Fremont, Ohio. She initially worked as a seamstress and then as a very successful grocery business owner in Fremont. She enjoyed her family, years of singing in the church choir, and all the sunshine she could find. Eventually she spent her winters in Florida and upon retirement lived year-round in Florida. Years later she returned to Fremont to be with her family and then moved to Akron to be with her daughter. She resided at Rockynol Retirement Center in Akron with her husband. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Her viewing was at Billow Funeral Homes and Crematory. Her ceremony will be announced sometime in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, please make any contributions to the Justin T.
