Bereavement Support Services

At Billow Funeral Homes, we believe that our service to families does not end with the burial or cremation. We offer several types of support groups called Living Beyond Loss, coordinated by Peggy Ethridge Koblenzer, a Licensed Independent Social Worker, and Nationally Certified Grief Therapist, all designed for those persons who have lost a loved one.

The grief experience can bring sorrow and confusion and your journey with others who have also lost a loved one can help in your recovery. Peggy offers support groups for people who have lose a spouse, adult children who have lost a parent, and for parents who have lost a child. She also hosts seminars at various times dealing with topics of death and loss such as "Understanding Mourning", "Grieving Different Losses", and "Coping With the Holidays."

All of the families we serve receive a personal invitation to Peggy’s groups, and many of the seminars are open to the public. Family and individual counseling is also available upon request.

Peggy Ethridge Koblenzer, L.I.S.W., A.C.S.W.

Peggy received her B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1977, and her M.S.S.A. from Case Western Reserve University in 1980. She became a Certified Grief Counselor in 1994, and a Certified Grief Therapist in 1997 through the Association for Death Education Counseling. Peggy has been helping the families at Billow’s since 1985, and is a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Akron.
